Shooto Brazil 27 is set to go down without a hitch this Friday at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brazil’s capital of Brasília, as all the fighters made their respective weights without incident.
In one of the title fights on tap for the night, Caio “Monstro” Magalhães takes on the dangerous Ismael Marmota for the South American under-84 kg title.
“I just made weight – 83.8 kg. Now I just have to replenish the energy and use the Jiu-Jitsu I learned from my teachers Guilherme Santos and Sazinho, as well as the Thai boxing I learned from Danilo Dragon. I’m going out there to win,” said Caio, direct from Brasília.
Monstro currently holds the Amazon Fight and Iron Man titles and is undefeated in his four-fight career. Now Goias state-native Marmota has won five of his eight fights and is coming off a spectacular knockout of Alexandre Macaco (Caio’s training partner) at Bitetti Combat 10.
In another title fight, Paulo Guerreiro comes up against a game Hacran Dias. “I’ve already lost once; I’m not going to let it go to the judges this time – I’m going for a knockout or submission,” said Guerreiro.
