Born in a tiny Austrian village, Arnold Schwarzenegger began his physical training at 15 years of age, won the Mister Universe bodybuilding contest at 20, and won a total of seven Mr Olympia titles thereafter. Following his hold on the pinnacle of bodybuilding competition, he went on to become a Hollywood icon, acting in numerous action movies. He then decided to take to the political stage, winning an election and reelection as governor of the US state of California.
In the video below, Schwarzenegger shares his seven tips for success—words that can at once be inspiring and controversial, depending on how one interprets them. They were shared over Facebook by such aces as four-time Jiu-Jitsu world champion Bruno Malfacine.
Schwarzenegger’s six governing principles are: believe in yourself; break the rules; don’t be afraid to fail; yes, you can; give it your all; and make time to develop yourself.
