Thursday featured a number of great matches and some surprises at the Abu Dhabi World Pro. Four-time world Jiu-Jitsu champion at featherweight Rubens Charles “Cobrinha”, for example, competed in the division above his. He didn’t do half badly against the under-74 kg fighters, only stopping at three-time world champion Celso Venícius in the semifinal.
This Friday is time to kick off the absolute, and Cobrinha promises to make things rough on everyone in the division.
“I lost the semifinal to Celso by decision. Today I’m going into the absolute,” said the black belt over Twitter (@CobrinhaCharles), and invited everyone to watch his match.
