The UFC again landed in Mexico City Nov. 5 for the finale of the third season of TUF Latin America. In the main event, Tony Ferguson bested former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos by unanimous decision. The co-main event saw Diego Sanchez beat Marcin Held in a great bout also by unanimous decision.
Earlier in the evening, Charles do Bronx opened a big lead over Ricardo Lamas with his BJJ, but wound up being surprised by a tight guillotine that made him tap out in R2. Alexa Grasso, undefeated in MMA and deemed one of Mexico’s biggest hopes in the sport, debuted in the league and easily defeated Heather Jo Clark by unanimous decision.
In the preliminary card, Felipe Sertanejo and Erik “Goyto” Perez had a level match, but the latter had the edge in the split decision. Douglas D’Silva returned to the cage from a long hiatus to knock out Henry Briones with a nice elbow followed by a spinning punch.
Martín Bravo beat Claudio Puelles via TKO in R2 to win this season of The Ultimate Fighter Latin America 3 and secure a contract with the UFC to fight as a lightweight.
