Jake Ellenberger has never been what one would consider a “talker” in the UFC.
Sure, pre-fight trash-talk works for a lot of guys – Chael Sonnen, for example. But Ellenberger has always relied on performing in the Octagon in order to make a point.
That is, until today.
On Tuesday’s media call for UFC on FOX 8, Ellenberger took to the mic for a change and served up a hearty plate of trash-talking goodness.
“Rory (MacDonald) doesn’t have a choice where this fight goes,” Ellenberger exclaimed on to the press on the conference call. “This fight goes where I want it to go. And I’ve shown that in the past fights. He’s showed he’s had potential, but he has not faced anybody like me. I’m stoked to get in there.”
When asked if the banter is all for fun, Ellenberger went one step further and said MacDonald’s decision to fight him isn’t the smartest decision.
“I’m an evidence-based abuser,” he said. “I didn’t make him make this stupid decision to fight me. I’m just going to make him look stupid when I destroy him.”
Oh my! Who is this new Jake Ellenberger and can we have some more?!
