The first day of competitions at the US Open XVIII was devoted to kids and blue and purple belt adults, masters and seniors.
The little ones filled the six mats with a lot of enthusiasm and love for Jiu-Jitsu.
Instructors and parents cheered and gave instructions all day long.
Around 3PM, blue and purple belts entered the mats and also gave their all.
Once again, brown belt Manny Diaz (photo) was the name of the day, with a impressive display of technique.
He won both the adult heavyweight and the open class.
The thrills continue tomorrow, when the black belts go on.
The schedule of fights is here.
You can also check the brackets here.
If you can’t make it to the Kaiser Permanente Arena, don’t worry.
The US Open XVIII will be available online via a free webcast.
