As the masters of Brazilian jiu-jitsu say, the guillotine is much more a matter of subtlety than force. But, often, we come across really resistant opponents who must be tamed through a long, persistent squeeze — one which inevitably sucks up a whole lot of energy.
To get his body used to this sort of exhausting situation, Gilbert Durinho’s training routine explores this specific kind of exercise. In a video made by his team, Durinho works on the isometrics of the act of squeezing the guillotine to make it as sharp as it will get.
