In 1998 Gustavo Dantas competed for the first time in the United States as a brown belt featherweight. A streak of losses back home in Brazil fueled him enough to win both his weight division and the absolute division. Only three months later he decided to move to the states armed with some gis, a new college degree and his dream of making Jiu-Jitsu his life.
Now a successful school owner of GMA GDJJ in Tempe, AZ, a leader of Nova Uniao in the states, promoter of the successful AZ International Jiu-Jitsu Tournaments, founder of BJJ Mental Coach.
His message is “acredite” which means “believe” in Portuguese.
