The Jiu-Jitsu community suffered a major low on Sunday, Nov. 17. At age 78, Renato Paquet passed away in Rio de Janeiro and left sorrow to relatives and friends connected to the master.
Paquet began in Jiu-Jitsu in 1956, went through several academies to settle definitively at Check Mat Copacabana, where he trained with famous black belts.
The grandmaster, who was also a black belt in judo and had two titles in Boxing was a ninth degree Jiu Jitsu red belt.
Always showing energy, Master Renatão could not stay away from the mat, as shown in the video below, recorded this year where Paquet rolls with one of the Check Mat leaders, Ricardinho Vieira.
