While his eye is certainly on the IBJJF’s Heavyweight GP he will take part in next weekend, Dimitrius Souza has been staying active in open tournaments on Brazilian soil, with no small degree of success.
The Alliance fighter recently competed in the Vitória Open, beating the heavyweight and absolute fields. In the absolute final, he came across Admilson Gobi (Lloyd Irvin) and, at the end of a tough battle, managed to get things stable on top and attack with a neat transition to an armbar.
