A Gracie Barra instructor and former UFC fighter, Fabiano “Pega-Leve” Scherner recently returned to no-gi competition, appearing at Submission Underground 7, an event promoted by his student Chael Sonnen. The show took place on April 15th in the U.S.
His opponent in the main no-gi superfight was no-gi world champion Bruno Bastos. The fight developed mostly on the feet, with grip exchanges and takedown attempts. Pega-Leve managed to unbalance his opponent when he put Bastos next to the fence. With a good double-leg takedown, Pega-Leve worked from the top, mounted and sank a winning triangle from the mount.
