Day 2 of the 2014 World Masters Jiu-Jitsu Championship was filled with thrills in over 10 hours of action.
Abraham Marte took the main spotlight when he managed to finish Thiago pereira with a triangle choke in a little over 30s of their master 1 black belt open class final.
Marte also won the ultra-heavy division, where he defeated no other than Rodrigo Comprido.
In the master 2 division, Roberto Godoi came back from a tough loss to Saulo Ribeiro in the superheavy division to beat Ranieri de Albuquerque in the open class.
In the master 3 division, Richard Martin won double gold when he managed to defeat Elvis Sinosic in the heavyweight and Stephen Hall in the open class.
The master 4 division saw a close out in the open class, when old friends and training partners Wellington Megaton and Adimilson Brites reached the final. Megaton took gold for a perfect weekend, once he also won the featherweight
In the master 5 division, Stephen Kamphuis won gold after a tough “judo” match with Tom Reusing and in the master 6 division, Brian Beauchamp finished M Patrick Worley for the gold medal.
